RugbyHead Coach

Devlog

I am building a rugby union management simulation on my own. I spent seven years as a strength and conditioning coach in professional rugby before I moved into software, so I have watched a lot of the thing I am now trying to model. Most of the work goes into the match engine, and most of that work is measuring what it does against how rugby is actually played. These are the notes. A good number of them are about things I had wrong.

Nobody ran into the gap

The defensive line had a hole in it about two thirds of the time. The attack almost never went near it. I nearly fixed the wrong thing.

More on the way. There are roughly sixty of these sitting in my notes, covering everything from a prop running down an elite winger to half of all scrums being fed to the wrong team.
